It’s not hard to imagine Can in a trance state when hearing their live performances. With the natural ease at which music flows through their fingertips, the band’s improvisational prowess conjures some serious 50-year FOMO hopefully alleviated by the restored recordings of their live concert series. LIVE IN CUXHAVEN 1976 fades into life as though a fragment of a perpetual performance, with winding passages of keys, bouncing bass plucks, and smooth, syrupy guitars blending into a seamless krautrock experience. On ‘Drei’, hints of their next album Flow Motion creep in with tropical reggae drums snaking beneath guitars ripping right through.
